Social Media and Communications Intern

Required Skills and Experience:

  •   Competency using at least 3 of the following: Drupal, Facebook, Microsoft Office, opensource Wiki platforms, Tumblr, Twitter, Vimeo, WordPress
  •   Access to Internet Connection

  • Cover Letter: Provide a one page cover letter describing your interest in working at AAPF as well as your interest working in the social media and communications field.
  • Resume: Provide a resume in PDF format that clearly lists your contact information (email, phone, address), education (degrees attempted and completed), past work experience, past volunteer experience, and areas of competency (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.).
  • Example Projects: Provide links (as few as two, as many as six) social media projects you have done in the past that you are proud of.  Projects can be ones completed for a college class, in another job, or for your own personal satisfaction.

Legal and Policy Support (current law student)

Desired Skills and Experience:

  •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  •    Proficiency using at least two Academic Databases

Required Skills and Experience:

  •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  •    Proficiency in either WestLaw or LexisNexis
  •    Current Law Student: Rising 2L or 3L at an ABA accredited law school.
  •    Completed Course Work: Completed at least two of the following courses: Constitutional Law, Advanced Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Legislation, Civil Procedure, Education Law, Civil Procedure

  •  Legal Writing Sample: Provide a 5–10 page legal writing sample in PDF format.  Please include a 75 to 175 word explanation at the top of the writing sample explaining the scope of the original assignment, scope of research, and whether someone else aided you in editing your sample.

  •    Current College Student
  •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (emphasis upon established skill set in Word and PowerPoint)
  •    Proficiency using at least two Academic Databases
  •    Demonstrated interest in Affirmative Action and other racial equity projects.

  •  Cover Letter
  •   Resume: Provide a resume in PDF format that clearly lists your contact information (email, phone, address), education (degrees attempted and completed), past legal work experience (if none, provide relevant volunteer experience), past volunteer experience (need not be legal), a list of all relevant coursework completed as of June 1, 2013.
  • Writing Sample: Provide a 4–10 page writing sample in PDF Format.  Where possible, the writing sample should be law or political and/or social policy orientated.  Please include a 50 to 100 word explanation at the top of the writing sample explaining the class or assignment the writing sample comes from.
