From time to time AAPF takes on semester and summer long interns to assist us in our legal, policy, and community education work in a variety of capacities. AAPF is a cutting edge legal and policy think tank based in New York City. Founded in 1994 by Kimberle Crenshaw and Luke Harris, AAPF focusses its work on legal gender and racial equity work with a focus on affirmative action work domestically and abroad as well as research and advocacy work focussed on women and girls of color in the US. Recent Affirmative Action oriented projects include Focus on Affirmative Action, the Colombia Praxis Project, and the (Un)Equal Opportunity Race video and website. Recent women and girls projects include Confined in California and Race, Gender, and the School to Prison Pipeline.
For summer 2013, AAPF is hosting interns in two areas: Legal and Policy Support and Social Media and Communications. AAPF has three opening in Legal and Policy Support, two designed for pre-law or law track students and one designed for current US law students attending ABA accredited law schools. AAPF has one opening in Social Media and Communications, designed for a currently enrolled college student.
